Paul M. Dennis, Jr.
Paul graduated with his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Duke University in 1972. He earned his law degree with honors from the University of North Carolina in 1975 and was admitted to practice the same year. Prior to joining Sparrow Dennis & Medlin PA, Paul worked with the law firms of Hoyle, Hoyle & Boone and Tuggle Duggins & Meschan, P.A. He also spent three years as a Vice President and Associate Counsel of Northwestern Financial Corp/Northwestern Bank, which was the fourth largest bank in North Carolina at that time. During his tenure there, his primary area of responsibility was the documentation, restructuring, and collection of major commercial loans. Paul now uses that experience in his legal practice representing lending institutions and borrowers in complex financial transactions. This is especially helpful as a large part of his commercial real estate practice is the negotiation and closing of financing for acquisition, development, and construction of real estate.
In his free time, Paul enjoys traveling with his wife. Their most recent trip was to Argentina and Chile in 2011. Paul also enjoys sports — particularly college basketball, surf fishing, and hiking.
